In Week 6 of The Gallery, the prompt from Tara at Sticky Fingers is Ugly. Whilst out walking with my 6 year old yesterday, I asked her about ugly, and what she thinks is ugly. She did first of all say “an ugly monster”. I told her I’d struggle to take a picture of a real “monster”, so it had to be something I could take a photo of. She immediately reminded me of the ugly monkey bottom we had seen at the Safari Park last week. So here it is in all it’s ugly glory. She wanted me to post the elephant’s bottom too, so it’s ‘cuteness’ would balance out the monkey.
Last week’s post was about where we live, and I mentioned that I lived on an old colliery. I’d searched on-line for a photograph for when it was still a working pit. I found a site with this photo on and managed to obtain permission from the photographer to post it. I think that also qualifies for ‘Ugly’. It is now however, a very beautiful place to live.
