Review: Are Baby Born Free Bottles Any Good?

Baby Born Free Bottle review are they any good

I was made aware of Baby Born Free bottles via Twitter earlier in the year and that they didn’t use any of the nasty harmful chemicals in production of their bottles.

When I tried to buy a replacement set of bottles in preparation for my son starting nursery, I couldn’t get any which came with anything other than newborn (slow flow)teats. Not just this brand, but all brands of bottles, only come with newborn teats. Which means you have to spend extra on appropriate teats for the age of your baby, and dispose of the perfectly new ones you can’t use. A bit of a con (and wasteful too).

I contacted Baby Born through Twitter and asked if I could offer some feedback on this, it was welcomed whole heartedly, and I felt they really cared about what mums had to say.
They even sent me a whole set of bottles (and teats) for us to test.

We’ve had them a while now and have given them some thorough testing!

What we like:
Lots of room at the top of the bottle for adding the milk. (Some bottles when full to 8/9oz leave hardly any room for the milk to be added.)
The design makes it really easy for the milk to flow – reducing the risk of ear infections due to heavy sucking.
Sealing cap to ensure you can give it a really good shake to mix the milk. (Bottles which seal only via a lid, aren’t always that secure).
The component parts are really easy to clean, (no long tube features like a similar anti colic brand).

Honesty time:
Tall bottle doesn’t fit in my compact microwave (oh come on we all give it a 10 second zap, sometimes). I just have to take the lid and teat off to do this.
You may need the flow of the teat one less than other brands, as the valve is so effective and allows the milk to flow with minimum sucking.

Baby Born Free also do a range of other feeding equipment which is all interchangeable with their bottles e.g. Trainer Cups

They often(always) have a competition running via Twitter & Facebook so if you’re feeling lucky…..
