Cor, and I thought last week’s Bake off was difficult, this one involved dun, dun duhhhn, piping bags!
I went to Tesco on a Saturday night trying to find something to resemble a piping bag to no avail, I went to Asda and found the cheapest icing bag you have ever seen. I don’t think it was really big enough for what the recipe called for. More suitable for icing rather than cake mix. The nozzle kept coming off and I had joked earlier in the week about me with a piping bag would be like a scene from the Generation Game – it wasn’t far off. I think my paper cases were on the large size too.
However, whatever they lacked in the presentation department, was made up wholly by the taste. These were absolutely gorgeous, melt in the mouth little bits of heaven. I didn’t use apricot jam as suggested in the recipe, but some delicious damson jam from a WI show we went to last week. They didn’t last long. See what everyone else put together when Amy pulls the round up post together tomorrow.

Karen - These look amazing! good job! Love the blossom prop too – as befits a proper WI super-Sec!
Kxx
Attachment Mummy - What a splendid idea! I know I;m late coming to this but DEFINITELY getting the book and joining in asap, love it. Your cakes look YUMMY too BTW
hannah - That looks really good and very tasty! Never heard of this before but Im going to investigate! x
Les @ LPN Salary - Who said it lacks presentation? This is just looooooovely! Perfect for a "tea party" baby shower or a little girl's birthday party perhaps.
I think you can go for a DIY, one-time use bag by just rolling wax paper into a pipe next time. You don't have to worry about the end falling off but it's a bit difficult trying to squeeze but it works!
AnotherGoldfish - They look delicious! I'm tempted to try them myself, but I may have to wait a few weeks – I've eaten a silly amount of cake over the last few weeks.
