How fast has this week flown by? We had emergency doctor’s appointment on Monday for 3YO after he and 8YO were playing tag team fevers. They seem to be fighting fit again now.
A visit to the library on Wednesday saw us drop in at just the right time to join in some Olympic crafting.

We’ve signed up for the Summer Reading Challenge at our local library and they had finished their first two books, so we’d popped into get some new ones. We spent the afternoon gluing and sticking, to make an Olympic torch, a crown and medal. Have you been taking part this summer?
I’ve set myself my own summer reading challenge. I’m going to read these:

The Thread and Wolf Hall, I’ve had on my shelf for ages. I loved Hilop’s two previous novels, The Island and The Return so I’m really looking forward to that. I want to read Wolf Hall before getting hold of Mantel’s sequel Bring Up the Bodies. I though Jojo Moyes’ You Before Me would be a nice summer read. One I would have taken to the beach if I was going to one, but I can read it with my feet in the rain filled sandpit, can’t I? I’ve chucked Nancy Mitford’s Love in Cold Climate in as I haven’t read anything by her and fancied a more classic book. Finally, I’m looking forward to The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, and if you would like to join in a read-along with this book in August, please join us over at Love A Book to do so. We’ll be discussing it at the end of August.
I’ve also finished off some squares for our Women’s Institute secret knitting project. You’ll have to read the write up that one of our members Deb wrote about a knit and natter evening we had. She hadn’t knitted for years, and is now head of the leader board for squares with 10 contributed by her own fair hands. Last Thursday we had 5 squares, mine is in the mix below. Today we have over fifty! Love our ladies.

So what have you finished this week? A book, some crafting, the crossword. Leave a comment/link so we can all ooh and ahh.
