Yesterday’s crafty plans were scuppered by a very badly timed power cut. I’ve been spurred on to get some stuff on the go, and have everything cut out. Can you tell what it is going to be? I’ll give you a clue, it’s two separate items, left and right. Hopefully more will be revealed tomorrow.

In an effort to get my crafting mojo back I got all the lovely fabric I’ve bought out to start planning what I’m going to make. I was just about to get the iron out and start pinning and cutting out, when we had a power cut! So determined to get going on this tomorrow.

It was like comedy rain this morning, with buckets of water being thrown at the window. Barely able to see out of the glass.

Joining in with Tara for The Gallery this week as the subject is just too lovely to let pass by when a few days ago I got to meet this gorgeous 5 week old, with brand new eyes. How can a tiny newborn baby have such a deep, knowing look? He had me entranced.

Not the sunset I intended snapping, but the more picturesque view to the right, was rather dull as there were not many clouds.

This is a power station over a few miles away. Obviously not a great environmental picture, but I thought the billowing smoke was rather striking.

Another gorgeous winter sun kind of day. Feeding the ducks is so much more enjoyable in the sunshine than in the rain. We are all weather duck feeders in this house, due to the insistence of the 2YO getting worried about them being hungry.

We took loads of pictures of out silhouette, but I liked this one the best as Hugo is turned to me looking up, asking to see the picture on the camera – before I’ve actually taken it.

You have to be on your guard in our house, you never know where or when a Jurassic visitor is going to pop up. I don’t know how he gets about so quickly, but if he isn’t scaring the living day lights out of me when I go into the bathroom, he’s using my office to communicate with his buddies.

Last day of the school holidays and a spot of painting was the order of the afternoon. A was getting stuck into a painting by numbers prize she won at a New Year’s Eve party we went too. H is painting his plaster dinosaur magnets. We only had one slight accident with the T-Rex’s face falling off, disarrrrrster was avoided with a spot of super glue. I love the look of concentration on their faces along with the accompanying quiet.

It’s a very wild and windy day today so some indoor activity was very welcome.

As fast as I was taking the decorations off the tree, he was sneaking them back on again. A last ditch attempt at trying to make Christmas last a little longer. He told me to ‘stop taking them off, they’re my daddy’s baubles!’
